Bob and Jean Lovelady

Job and Jean Lovelady

Collectively, Bob and Jean Lovelady served the children of Princeton ISD for 65 years.

You could always find Mrs. Lovelady in the front office making sure everything was under control and everyone was taken care of. The campus ran smoothly when Jean Lovelady was there taking care of business. She spent 27 years in service to PISD before she passed away in early 2022, just a few months after Lovelady High School was dedicated.

Mr. Lovelady started his career in education in 1986 and served in Princeton as an assistant principal for seven years and PHS principal for 16 years. But he wasn't done with PISD. He spent another 12 years serving on the PISD Board of Trustees before he retired from the school board in November of 2024.

When Lovelady High School was opened in the Fall of 2021, several speakers reiterated their character traits of integrity, faith and passion and how those influenced their respective roles in education.

“I was always told to do what you are passionate about,” Mr. Lovelady said at the school's dedication ceremony. “I’ve been passionate about this job, these kids and that has never changed. Students have to be known. Students have to be loved. Students have to be served. Students have to be celebrated. Nothing else really matters.”

The Loveladys started a legacy in education, and their two children followed in their footsteps and continue to serve PISD in leadership roles.
